Expectations
“If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, Infinite. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things thro' narrow chinks of his cavern.” ~ William Blake .
Any expectations that we place on ourselves as therapists, on our receivers’ healing process or timeframe is a limitation. When there’s an idea in place about what we should feel or how they should experience this work we set ourselves up to feel inadequate or disheartened if things unfold differently.
Meanwhile, if we are committed to observing, with a pure heart and open mind... the full richness of each encounter can make itself known to us. Our unique gifts may be revealed and patterns that emerge will surprise and delight each and every time.
The good thing about noticing you hold expectations for yourself or others - or that you let expectations placed upon you influence your choices - is that all you need do is invite them to step aside. .
Then, relish your freedom to explore... ✨
